Cable Car of Puebla | What to See and Do in Puebla City

Teleferico Ciudad de Puebla

The Puebla Cable Car is an attraction that has 2 stations, one of 58 meters located in the Exhibition Center and another of 48 meters, located in the Paseo del Teleférico Park, in front of the Zaragoza Mausoleum.

In total, it has a route length of 688 meters and two cabins. It was inaugurated in 2016.

You will be able to identify the following from the heights of the route:

The Metropolitan Cathedral, The Star of Puebla, The Cuauhtémoc Stadium, The Cerro de La Paz, The Forts of Loreto and Guadalupe, The Mausoleum of General Ignacio Zaragoza, The Puebla Convention Center, The Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl Volcanoes, The Auditorium of La Reforma and The Planetarium.

Cuenta con una sala de espera y elevadores que permiten un ascenso rápido. El traslado entre ambas torres dura 5 minutos.

The cabins have a capacity for 35 people, but for convenience only 22 passengers per trip.

From a height of up to 58 meters, enjoy the panoramic view of the city from where you can see the Civic Zone 5 de Mayo, the Mausoleum of General Ignacio Zaragoza, the historic center, the Cuauhtémoc Stadium.

From this point, on a clear day you can see the volcanoes Popocateptl, Iztaccihuatl, Pico de Orizaba and La Malinche.

It is a short walk and the price for the tour can be perceived as high, it is not an essential attraction that you should climb, but you should know and visit this area.

The walk up through the forts is a bit exhausting, so taking the Cable Car can help you rest a bit.

At the end of the tour, you can take the opportunity to visit the Museum of Evolution located just below the Expositor station.

Afterwards you can stroll through the green areas of Los Fuertes or ride your bike along its bike paths and if you get hungry, you can always eat a traditional cemita at Cemitas del Carmen located next to the Planetarium.
