With spacious and luminous spaces, the architecture of this historic building will leave you enchanted. It was designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito, winner of the Nobel Prize for architecture (Pritzker).

To design the building, the renowned Japanese architect Toyo Ito took up three characteristic elements of Baroque art: movement, natural light as chiaroscuro and the relationship between man and nature.

These concepts, expressed through form, generate fluid spaces that respond to the complex needs of international museums. For Toyo Ito, architecture should be like a tree: an organism that grows and develops according to its environment and thereby generates new experiences that enrich the lives of its users.

The complex covers 18,000 square meters and is designed with curved white walls, water mirrors and minimalist gardens, where you can take a break before or after visiting the halls and learn more about this artistic movement.

The State Government opened the call in 2013. And the museum was opened to the public in 2016.
